⇨ New Location: SHABONDAMASHII
| PREPARATION↴ On Day 92 the carnival will have fled from Eden to a new rest location. NPCs will have been dropped off in the necessary places, and then the Ringmaster is settling everyone into a space vacation while she works on dealing with the aftermath of her fight with Lilith. More specifics will be incoming, but this is what you need to know. SETTING↴  Shabondamashii is technically a bathhouse, but the name is also used to describe the small city surrounding it. 'Shabon', as often called by foreigners who are bad at pronouncing things, predated the community surrounding it - over time, the rest of the city has built itself around the famous bathhouse's existing prosperity. The city is incredibly dense, and mostly filled with things meant to appeal to tourists. In this case, 'tourists' also includes beings from many other worlds. It's a universal nexus of a more frivolous variety, and both employs and is visited by a large variety of unique species. The owner is a powerful being, and as such, many employees are 'paid' via room and board, plus broad magical favours similar to what the Ringmaster would offer in exchange for service. Helpfully, everyone is there willingly, and are allowed to keep tips as a secondary income source. Service tends to be excellent, given the worker's desires to earn as much wealth as possible before returning to their homes. The layout of the city is incredibly dense, and overflowing with content. In terms of what you might see, it's pretty much anything you can imagine being in the world of Spirited Away, primarily defined by Japanese and other east-Asian culture. It isn't exactly like the earth variety, but it's close enough, and will be recognizable to people who come from those backgrounds. For the most part, as long as you aren't making up resources for your character to stockpile, if something fits the setting it's probably safe to assume it exists. The specifics of this location super don't matter. PATRONS↴  ► YOU: You're the patrons this time. The Ringmaster has booked everyone in for a week, meaning that rooms are available if you want them, as well as some local clothing. Food and spa treatments are also covered, so you can basically utilize that as much or as little as you want. They've got some helpful herbs and other treatments for iron-based wounds, which you might want to take a look at. You can make up the specifics of this, but they are essentially natural and non-magical remedies that will ease the healing process. As for the workers, this place seems to be accustomed to the same level of chaos that the carnival is. They have secret 'retreat' tunnels that they use to leave heated situations, and the management's stance seems to be that it's better to leave and wait for security to take care of it in the event of offworlders behaving violently, or other unexpected accidents. Safety first! DANGERS↴  ► YOURSELF: The specifics of this will be revealed along with the event posts, but the main thrust of this event is the opportunity to have your character split in half - that is, having them divide into a Light Side, and a Dark Side. What's important to know is that this isn't a matter of 'good' and 'evil'. These are subjective traits, that Light and Darkness as metaphysical elements are only tangentially related to. Light is the element of spiritual clarity, focus, and the pursuit of your most 'perfect' self. Dark is the element of insecurities, vices, and self loathing - Darkness is everything that holds you back from success, while Light draws you towards your ideal self. Unfortunately, what a soul perceives as its ideal self is incredibly subjective, and Light abides by that. Light is what you, personally, want to be. Which may, in fact, be less of a good person than what you leave behind. The Dark half will be made of everything your character dislikes about themselves, that they would like to purge if they had the chance. This could include things like fears, negative traits that make their life difficult, or inconvenient attachments. The Light side is everything that survives that purge, everything that a soul perceives as their best traits, or the traits they should be striving towards. If a trait is gone form one side, it will appear in the other. IMPORTANT NOTE: This does not mean that it inverts traits a character has. Your morally good character keeping their morality in their Light half does not mean the Dark half becomes 'evil'. It simply means they would be 'amoral', in that they would have no particular inclination to abide by morals. A trait being gone means that it defaults to neutral, not that it becomes the opposite. Love leaves behind apathy, not hatred, unless that hatred already existed and was merely being suppressed. Only traits a character already has can be split between either half. This splitting is OPTIONAL, and will only happen to a character if their writer wants it. It is triggered by your character having a significant moment of doubt, or of wishing that they could get rid of some aspect of themselves. Then, it will become all too literal. There will be a method of rejoining revealed along the way, but there are also a lot of reasons the split halves may want to resist this. Who needs all this baggage? ► SOMEONE ELSE: As it turns out, the carnival is being pursued, once again. At the end of the first week a new plot will start where everything gets fucked up, as is customary. REWARDS↴ You can keep a couple sets of clothing for yourself, and can also buy tourist knickknacks of little practical value. There is not much in the way of weaponry or items of significant magical potency here, so don't waste your time looking for them. If you want to buy some bath bombs, however, go nuts. Any little items that don't really affect gameplay can be freely acquired at various stores, including food, accessories, and cosmetics. CHANGES↴ There are no assumed changes being offered as part of this location. Beyond that, this is a PLOTTING POST, which means you can use it to make plans! And more specifically for Papyrus, if I buy a symbolic rare change for him (the idea of being able to separate his bones and stay alive and well) could the dark side reflect that rare change *before the rest of him?

The physical difference between the two is that they both have "auras", in that the Dark one has a Dark aura and the Light one looks vibrant and has a Light based aura. They are more differentiated by that than anything else.

It occurs to me that they'd be differentiated by how they feel about their bodies, rather than their bodies, anyway; light would probably be more blasé and self-accepting, while dark's riddled with self-loathing and fears. I see ways I could get my idea to work with this. Thank you!

LAMBERT & ERUKA
Eruka will be remaining mostly herself! As a result, she's happy to frolic amongst Shabon's various attractions/is available to deal with split halves. She can also offer tadpole rides as necessary!

no matter what, he'll spend a lot of time just trying to take in everything Shabon has to offer to make up for that 'not eating, not touching anything, probably not sleeping as well' period of being stuck in a Mirror (which mostly means booze, spa treatments, and using his magic to solve any problem he comes across).

I also realize this probably means him and Steven will feel a little tingly in a magic sense around each other, because people connected to the Miracles do that.

the return of FUN childermass
Ideal Childermass is a perfect workaholic with all the magic, so he isn't like to care about going out to have fun, enjoying anything, and generally anyone at all. Not-so-ideal Childermass gets to be the opposite; no magic, pretty lazy, but much more interested in having a good time. He also thinks the entire split thing is ridiculous but can't get the light side to agree, soooo... guess he's just... going to enjoy the place while he can? It's a bit screwy, but what can he do, right?
Before the whole split thing, however, he'll still be recovering from getting himself mauled by iron-clad bear claws. He won't exactly be fit to go see the sights without help but won't mind having company while resting up. I mean, he'll also still be recovering post-split but he'll probably be up to actually walking around a few days in.
ACQUISITIONS, since they're guests here, Childermass won't have much of an official list of things to retrieve. Go enjoy yourselves, etc. I'm asking about whether or not they can pick up some of the medicines being used here for the medical team, so that may come up, but depending on the answer it will be more actual business and not so much robbing their hosts.

Reira, Carly, Gon - Two Partying One Splitting-
REIRA will be adjusting to her new arms, though by the time they arrive she'll mostly have that settled. The big thing about this event with Reira is that a lot of her CR are about to find out just...how LITTLE of her adopted family's culture she knows.
As such, she gets to be carted around for All Of The Things, she'll be wearing various yukata and keeping one or two potentially, definitely have a few souvenirs, but what's Extra cool is that upon finding out that she has ZERO experience with it all, Tanyuu will realize that by extension she's never experienced traditional festivals and celebrations from home.
Or, close to home at least.
Since Reira is 7, she and Ginko will be making use of the resources available to put together a Shichi-Go-San festival! It's very simple- the actual ceremony is something that involves a celebrating successfully reaching that age, replacing the usual tie of a kimono with an obi, and then performing a small rite and prayer for continued health.
The...'Important' bit however, is the part where they're dressing the kiddo up in a fancier kimono for pictures. Nice
It'll probably be an open deal when that goes out, especially because Candy will be involved (And also Reira losing her one shoe, constantly,)
Most of her junk coming back will probably be Toys, other than that. Reira's delightful pets will be able to feature again as well, because nothing says vacation like spending the night in your hotel room with a Fucking Eagle (and a sparrow), while practicing your magic.
CARLY aside from absolutely L O V I N G THIS Carly's gonna take a good long soak in those springs, because she got shot up with pellets across the back and that Hurts. She's going to end up with scars back there, like some kind of weird...starry sky. Especially where it went through the fae marks.
At any rate, she'll mostly focus on enjoying herself and relaxing...Annnnnd then on trying to keep all of her friends and relations under control. On the one hand hooray! She has a boyfriend~
On the other OH GOD HE'S SPLIT IN TWO WHAT'S GOING ON HERE- AND HER NOT!SON AND HER FRIENDS TOO EVEN???WHY
Nuna, on this note, is going to feature here~ And will probably be given various dumb outfits courtesy of Carly. She also wants to ask RM to help her out with some magic so that she can lay a smackdown on things easier (spoilers that's not going to quite be how it works).
GONGENZAKA Oh Boy.
Gongenzaka will be fine for the first few days, and perhaps even somewhat relaxed. He'll be bringing his various pets- three of whom Foster gave him, and will be getting names.
He'll be aiming to teach Steven some meditation, and otherwise enjoy some vacation with Yuuya...annnnd then lose the mid-week day to Split Body Nonsense.
That will be a whole adventure in itself, but the gist is that for the entire day, One Gongenzaka (Dark Gon) will be a curious, properly teen-acting (right down to bunking tradition and dropping 'I, the Man' every now and then) sort, who is...Extremely indeceisive, and kinda avoiding anything he's especially worried about the emotional consequences of if he can help it. He acts more on impulse, which can range from deciding that dammit, he's going to see what alcohol is all about! ...All the way to deciding that someone's ticked him off by doing something ABSOLUTELY UNFORGIVABLE and the answer is that he needs to lay some kind of a smack down.
And of course, it's just as likely that he'll back out of actions and purchases before going through with things because 'oh, but maybe...' ...He'll be 'babysat' by his own daemon for maybe an hour before giving her the slip. (After that, she's with Light Gon)
Light Gon in contrast will be completely self-assured, and dedicated to a particular list of priorities which he plans toward. On the one hand, he embraces his emotions but on the other he's more visibly subdued, as this Gongenzaka feels there's a Time And Place for everything, and that he must present himself properly!
Once that mess is over he'll be far more able to relax about things, which means getting cute things for the pets, returning what trinkets he REALLY doesn't think he needs, while keeping the ones that he wouldn't have bought before this whole eye-opening experience.
RITA
Light Rita will be casting away most of her inconvenient emotions so she can focus completely on research (or whatever task seems pertinent at the time). Dark Rita, on the other hand, will have all the fears and doubts she usually tries to conceal, but will be more willing to open up to others. She's also more willing to actually go out and have fun without being a huge stick in the mud about it, so she'll actually be enjoying the festival/spa while Light Rita does all the hard work.
Light Rita will be happy to work without distractions, and won't be too interested in rejoining, but Dark Rita will be a lot more conscious of her own deficiencies and may want to reunite with her light side. Rita can be stubborn as hell, though, so she might need some help with that.
