Given that it's been a while since our last CR/plotting meme, this seemed well overdue!

This post is where you talk about what you are looking for in character relationships, and then respond to other people's posts to plot! You can be as long winded or as brief if you like - as long as you communicate what you are interested in doing.

New to this post is a 'Collective Objectives' section, which will be a toplevel below. This is for coordinating events or efforts that you want the input/organization of multiple characters on, making a big group log, or developing something have broader ramifications for the Carnival moving forward.

There is a form provided below for your convenience, but you don't have to fill everything out! It just needs to be enough information to give your fellow players an idea of what they have to work with.

Canon: Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell
Carnival Role: The Acquisitioner
Length of Stay: Just over 6 months into his year and a day stay.
Skills/Powers: Magic, thievery, and being the only real serious person in this madhouse. His canon magic is somewhat limited to "don't look here" and other spells related to avoiding being seen, locating magic (which is fairly useless in a place that's entirely magical), and what he's picked up since joining the carnival.
Routine: watchin u all from the shadows erryday (who even knows, it varies)
Current status in game: Exhausted because he hasn't been sleeping, but, hey, still better than most?
Any current or future plans: He's going to sleep a lot... No real solid plans, a few ideas are probably expanding his current shapeshifting to a giant crow form, training his Arcanine as a mount, figuring out what the carnival needs acquired, etc.
IC Assistance: He's pretty self-suffiecient. Job-wise, he'll be handing out an optional list of "things to obtain" to his workers once we know where the next location is/assuming anything is even needed.
Desired CR: Right now? Anyone who isn't completely non-sensical or hasn't given him a reason to be mad at them yet. This trip through the Prince's well-mannered hellscape has left him with very little patience.

Additional Comments:

Seeing Childermass, even if that is just a blooper, that happy actually terrifies me.

He'll pay back those cigarettes later with interest. I personally love the role reversal (if I haven't said that enough) here given the whole Lord/servant thing that Tyki might never figure out. He hasn't really asked a lot about Childermass and what he use to do but he might have a newfound curiosity soon.

8I And he doesn't care how mad you are or aren't at him right now. He's gonna run into him given how much Tyki might lurk. He'll find him popping up everywhere, leaning against walls, taking naps outside his trailer. Well, that is when he isn't' isolating himself or peeling so many potatoes all drained at how booooring it is.

Seriously, though, at some point he'll probably request Tyki go bother someone else. He does have two bosses, y'know!

I feel like Tyki is going to flip flop from worst boss to best boss many many times throughout his time here.

He does but he didn't try to push Childermass off a balcony BUT FINE HE'LL GO BOTHER JOKER AND ACTUALLY MAN UP.

I super wanna follow up on their CR after stealing the blue rose together. o9 Idk what specifically yet besides just talk but definitely talking.

Also since I was reminded in discord I am up for a follow up conversation with Yuya 'so can you ward Strange out of places' 'nah we tried'.

Haha, well! At this point, I think I'm just going to drop points on an item that wards rather than bugging Yuya, but if they ever get into another chat about magic, it'll come up in passing.

And absolutely. Childermass would at least want to ask what having the rose was like.

Ok so Reira stuff we know that's coming and a thing so -shoves that aside- OTHER THINGS

THINGS I'M KINDA EXCITED ABOUT ACTUALLY mostly because this book has been a big fat unknown since it was found.

So Carly of course has a spellbook she stole from the Count of Crows-she actually has the Ink and Pen too, which could mean adding spells possibly? Regardless.

The main point is, once things seem to calm down, she's going to seek the Acquisitioner out, now that she knows a touch more about shadows being a Thing. (I say that like she knows anything beyond 'oh childermass does shadows I guess' which is. Not much, woefully little, but you do you, Carly)

This is a SERIOUS REQUEST so she'll be fairly serious in her approach at least, so Childermass would likely be spared most of her reactivity regardless of how thaaat goes but YEAH

Book written in Shadowspeak, want to look over it with her?? First time she tried it, her shadow started wandering around not listening, so that's a great sign.

We should probably do that Reira thread soon, with the hunt wrapping up.

And he'll be equal parts interested and anxious regarding something stolen from the Count, though he obviously isn't going to be showing the latter there. No idea how much he can help her with it, but I guess we're about to find out. He does have a better grasp on controlling shadows, at least.

The Ringmaster will never let her forget that incident- (She and Strange basically had it fenced with fire while Carly held her head in her hands and Regretted Everything, rip-)

I guess for the finer details we'll have to ask Quix what kind of stuff Childermass' fae aspect lends for this...

Anyway-re: Reira, I've said she'd seek him out when she could of course, but obviously with the hunt and its likely aftermath it's just as easy (or even Easier) for Childermass to be the thread instigator. Inbox or otherwise, I'm fine with whichever you feel makes the most sense.
