Given that it's been a while since our last CR/plotting meme, this seemed well overdue!

This post is where you talk about what you are looking for in character relationships, and then respond to other people's posts to plot! You can be as long winded or as brief if you like - as long as you communicate what you are interested in doing.

New to this post is a 'Collective Objectives' section, which will be a toplevel below. This is for coordinating events or efforts that you want the input/organization of multiple characters on, making a big group log, or developing something have broader ramifications for the Carnival moving forward.

There is a form provided below for your convenience, but you don't have to fill everything out! It just needs to be enough information to give your fellow players an idea of what they have to work with.

OH yeah that definitely needs to happen. He will want to talk to her about a few things and how important it is to obey the rules even if us shitty adults break them. He has a feeling that's been hammered in already cause of the way she usually is but he'll still want to talk to her. I mean, chances are he's already okay with things but if he does run into her and he WILL run into her he'll want to talk. Mostly for her benefit over his own. Tyki makes lots of unhealthy decisions otherwise.

ANYWAY there's obviously plenty of time for that post event, but I was wondering if you'd figure the talk would happen before or even during the Hunt, since they're both Carnival Quarantined? The latter definitely has its obvious benefits given that they at least passed each other by on Sans Capture

His feelings with her are a bit weird rn since he knows all the truth and she doesn't and he's not sure he's ready for her to in case it changes things between them. So he's kind of okay just keeping secrets and pretending everything's normal until she asks.

It's definitely her fault for wandering out even though Tyki said not to. Just like it is Tyki's fault to wandering out even though he said he wouldn't go past the rooms.

OK SO. Now that she's not brainwashed to crap, this is definitely CR I'm interested in seeing the results of-obviously there's the awkwardness of dealing with how that initial meeting WENT of course, but I feel like it'll be...pretty interesting since I imagine at least a number of things that aren't someone else's secret to keep will end up like

More importantly she's actually likely to be a bit interested in Cole's whole...mind reading empathy deal herself. HOW, COLE....HOW DOES THE THING WORK... The only other empath she's met is Steven after all and...she's still kinda nervous about talking to him since she keeps making him nervous, Oops.

Yeah, don't worry, the bad decisions and playing with the nature of life and death are all Herbert! All she has to do is inject a diluted solution of reanimation fluid into a living human!

SO I NEED TO DO THIS. Because seriously the guy can track souls and is going to be learning to handle normal poisons with ~soul magic~ himself so THIS COULD BE SOME NEAT CR....

He'd be great for teaching newbies the basics, since that's the majority of the magic he uses is basic elemental/status spells, and he knows a decently wide variety of spells. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. On top of that, he's pretty patient when teaching someone a thing, and he'd be super encouraging to anyone who's not getting it on the first try.

He's not. Super interested in learning? But if you have something neat to show him he'll definitely at least take a look.

As for OOC, I vote for a network post followed by a mingle log.

Canon: Undertale

Carnival Role: Janitor (head janitor, given his default seniority over the cinder spirits)

Length of Stay: 6 months so far, indefinite months to go! (not going home til they figure out a solution to the ongoing bs back there).

Skills/Powers: Being a cool, self-confident, stubbornly optimstic dude, able to brush aside astonishingly valid criticism. Plus he almost never needs to sleep, having some mysterious near-infinite well of energy. He's a skeleton monster who's been with the carnival a while, and that means he has magic:
- bone projectiles he directs in patterns
- two kinds of 'blue' magic; one to make the bones only hurt people in relative motion, one to mess with a person's gravity/momentum (he uses it to fling people around rooftops, or make them weigh enough that fighting's harder, or to himself jump around with ease)
- a skull-shaped blaster of rays of destructive magic (anyone who's seen Sans fight recognizes it, though Papyrus' is more a sibertoothed tiger than a wolf)
- summonning his daemon, a gray snow goose called Sistina, since their time in Greysol.

Routine: Basically, Papyrus wanders all over the grounds doing cleaning and artsy things.
- Since he barely sleeps, he tends to do a fair amount of the janitorial clean-up while many people have gone to bed, with a couple 2-3 hour bursts through the day and evening.
- Come dawn he tends to grab food from the mess hall, then go to meet with the Alolan Marowak he adopted (and named Coolbone) off the path of the hotsprings mountain, to do some sparring/training (please mind the bones littered in the edge of the woods).
- Various regular activities through the early day, like swinging by the supervisor grove to leave his brother an encouraging note and do some revisions to the sand Sans on the trailer's roof, meet with Lambert at the lake to do silly flashy playfights of moves that aren't good in serious Nightrider/Witcher stuff, meet up with Carly for Marowak socializing, and whatnot.
- Lunch, which he may or may not eat in the mess hall
- A couple hours of afternoon cleaning
- Sometimes he and Lambert do silly flashy play fights where they use the moves that aren't any good for serious Nightrider/Witcher stuff.
- Lately he's been messing around in the woods with wood carving, making warning statues of Coco the Exeggutor.
- And, since the start of Heartstone, he's been reading books aloud on the radio every night (on his channel, after doing a quick advertisement/reminder on the public channel) around the time of night when most people are going to sleep. This doesn't have an exact time since I figure sleep schedules are probably different on performance weeks vs off weeks.

Current status in game: He's not as quick to say he's fine as usual, because some heavy stuff happened and he needs a bit of time to come to grips with it all. But he's not plagued by stone and had pretty minimal poison exposure due to being a picky eater, so there's that much good going for him.

Any current or future plans: There's a few people he wants to check up on in particular (Sans, Joker, Rita, Rin, and anybody else who got kidnapped that he doesn't feel a little responsible for.) He's coping with the disorientation of having (temporarily! to save them!) killed somebody. The Sans situation is even bigger than the others, since they've got reconnecting to do, after that argument... and the years of weird distance that they've had. Plus, another friend from home has arrived, and that's some ~~mostly~~ wonderful news!
In the near future, he's going to be bugging the Ringmaster about how the cinder spirits are kind of creepy and mostly kind of worrying, because they basically don't talk and (esp after Heartstone) that's pretty demoralizing, so could she let them talk already? Yes, okay, they're all extremely awful people who did terrible terrible things to be put like this, but they can get better if they try! and if they're trapped unable to get real feedback how will they want to try! Papyrus is on the case!!! So, depending on how that goes... enjoy the fact that Papyrus is going to be highlighting one way that RM is fae, albeit not as much as the others. And either let the cinder spirits stay condemned to their silent prisons, or... get to listen to whatever horrible things they want to say?

IC Assistance: Sans might have been brainwashed to be a jerk, but he had a good point: there's kinds of responsibility that Papyrus never really took on. All the paperwork logistics of kingship, the heavy burden of taking a life, and the whole mess of talking to his brother honestly. (There are ways Papyrus lies to Sans, pretending to remember less than he does). Papyrus is going to be asking people, in various weirdly obscure or weirdly direct ways, about these sorts of things.

Desired CR: Honestly, planning CR is tough. I never know for sure how a thread will go, and if characters will jive or clash in surprising ways. Let's toss characters together based on an idea, and see how it actually pans out.

Shipping Preferences: TL;DR, the player is nervous about rping shipping, but my take on Papyrus has some interest in people.
I figure he's got a celebrity crush on Mettaton (listen to his Hotland calls, and look how he ogles Mettaton's leg that one time), and so I headcanon him as somewhat oriented towards men, mostly into dramatic or showy sorts. So far in LC he's had a couple run-ins of sexuality back in Celebration (vague narrative comments about what he got up to once he got sucked in) and Portland (watching Psi's strip show was a delight). And we all had a chat in the nsfw channel about how sexuality could work for the skeletons, and agreed on headcanons with no ectoplasmic boners involved.
Thing is, I haven't really ever rped a ship before, and I may be too ace/aro to get the appeal of some of the meat of writing a relationship. If you're curious what sorts of stuff I'd enjoy if I gathered the gumption to initiate anything, I can shoot you links to some fic I adore. If we have a non-shippy cr where it could get shippy in fun ways, let's chat. Other than that... not seeking anything here.

Permissions/Opt Outs: The biggest thing the other way that's coming to mind is, Papyrus has a selective way of looking at things sometimes, and he frequently doesn't notice/acknowledge criticism or various other negative emotions in any real way. There's a very good chance I'll ignore any "[your character name] looks [whatever emotions they're expressing" narrative cues when writing his reactions, and that may be a little unreality making.

Additional Comments: Don't let the icons fool you! He hasn't worn the costume armor since before coming to the Carnival; lately he's been wearing cooler, casual clothing.

(Yes, in the underground this was actually somewhat fashionable. Or at least the basketball shoulderpads supposedly are, according to the guy who sells them.)

just swap out "smell their pheromones" with "read their thoughts" and yep, this is a conversation they most likely will have.

And yeah, they are both thieves! I dunno when team acquisitions will have their next opportunity of 'let's steal some shit', but I wouldn't mind threading Five & Cole trying to be sneaky together.

And YEP there will be lots of talking to be had, of varying degrees of awkwardness. Rita will probably feel bad about messing him up (sorry for biting you and overheating your systems and giving you gross melty skin) and try to repair as much of him as she can.

Papyrus is gonna be genuinely excited about his Flowery friend being here! (It's a pity that it's been a while, and he's not exactly sure what his name was anymore... but that's a small obstacle.)

He's from a King Papyrus timeline (with some not strictly game canon but regrettably plausible post-phone call content), and he recently, kinda, killed somebody? To save their life, in roundabout ways, but still. Plus there's this whole thing where he and Sans have been weird and not-talking about their erased-from-reality dad. Skele friend has some things going on.

So let's talk about how to decorate this trailer!! (forced smile intensifies)

I'm enjoying their cr so far! If Papyrus finds out about a birthday, or whatever birthday party scheming that Hinawa is cooking up, he'll want to offer fire and explosions. As you do.

how about those cinder spirits, huh. I REALLY DO want them to have happy and positive cr too, but if you want her to have a fresher reason to be upset about fae things, I'm looking to explore some of the tension. And this is with Papyrus still being team Trust RM.

LMAO well Sora's been in the carnival long enough that he's sliiiightly less gullible and likely to trust on first contact. Given that Flowey has the capability to act like a cute harmless thing at first, though, Sora would definitely be willing to at least talk. XD
