There isn't a whole lot Childermass has to say regarding Zangetsu, personally, just yet. He knows he's capable of doing his job, but also that he seems awfully dangerous and uncontrolled. How he'll keep him from stabbing him should they ever have a major disagreement is still a mystery to Childermass, although he's sure he'll think of something.

Regarding the hunting incident, he wishes he was more surprised. On one hand, it was just the crowning achievement of how disappointing his entire crew has been during this entire mess with the Prince. On the other, Zangetsu didn't technically break any rules and it's not like anyone actually forbade him from chewing on his coworkers. An oversight Childermass will be amending once he has a moment to because seriously, wtf Zan? Are you some kind of wild dog? (Yeah, okay, he probably is)

All that aside, having someone who's down for punching whoever he points him at is actually pretty useful. So between him not getting captured and being there to help out when actually needed, that miraculously makes Zangetsu the #1 worker on the Acquisitions team right now.

Not particularly? Childermass never really interacted much with Carly in any meaningful way before their promotions and he hasn't really had a chance to afterward, either.

As it stands, his opinion of her, unfortunately, isn't very high. She's loud, overreactive, and doesn't appear to be very bright, so he's likely to just leave her to ruling her wardrobe tent over in her corner of the carnival until she actually needs his help with supplies or anything else.

How's it feel being the dumbest countarpart, friend.

Yugo's kind of a weird one, honestly! There's a deep connection between them being two parts of the same soul and all, but Yuya doesn't really know Yugo well at all. He hasn't even directly talked to Yugo since the one time they met in person Yugo fucking ignored him, so he's got little insight on Yugo as a person. He did keep Yuzu safe until the friendship cup, though, and that's major plus points in Yuya's book that he's not all that bad.

LC's really his chance to get to know Yugo better, and Yuya's finding he's a really brash and big-hearted person (and big-stomached) even by his standards, but at the same time those are just stronger versions of Yuya himself so he doesn't actually disagree with Yugo so much as "maybe stop and think".

Like really stop and think, this is twice he's had to intervene you trying to kill someone.

In general though he likes Yugo! It's definitely an improvement from 'fusion scum' and he'd like to get to actually know him well, because especially after all his talking with Yuto that feels like a thing he should do (they'll figure out what to do with Yuri later).

Being fairly new to his position, he hasn't gotten a whole lot of time to get to know the people working directly for him and that includes Reira. He knows she's very young and that isn't actually a problem. Children make good thieves, something he knows from personal experience.

But he also knows that they only make good thieves if they can handle difficult situations that may come their way and actually listen to what they're told. What Childermass actually knows about Reira is 1. she's young, 2. she's a capable pickpocket at the very least, and 3. she cannot follow rules. Unfortunately for her, that third point has potential to cause a lot of harm.

So his actual opinion of her and where they stand really isn't something I can expand upon right now beyond that, at least not until what happens after the current location wraps up. There really isn't much else to add.

I have weird definitions of interesting to be fair-

Anyway, I did say I'd tl;cr back on things so

On the flipside, and it'll probably be abundantly clear when she gets the time to approach him post event with that shadowy book, Carly's a wee bit....Scared of Childermass, I'd actually say. She's not really interacted with him much, if ever, but the impressions just from things like the dinners at the manor or those few encounters are definitely 'distant', and 'cold' (go figure). Ironically it'll probably make her default to an even more loud and overreactive state down the line-but the fact is that Childermass strikes her as someone who can and will get stuff done, in the sort of way one hopes they aren't in the line of sight while it's happening.

Spooky guy, basically. CHIL-ly guy?? don't hurt me- Much like he's likely to leave her alone, she'll probably spend as long as she can on her last bolts of cloth before anxiously coming over to make some requests.

Is that a high opinion?? A low opinion???? Who knows, but it's an initial one at least.

And, as I said I would-

Not immediately marking her down for being a kid is probably something she'd value A lot, if she knew it was a factor at all. Reira understands that people treat her differently, but since half the time this comes in tandem with the fact that she acts really odd, she hasn't really clued into her age being that Thing. So...someone not doing that? She can get behind that, not because of some 'don't treat me like a kid!!' mindset but just because she actually understands things better when it's presented without all the baggage that comes from such a mindset.

That said-from what few interactions there have been, and from what you said about Childermass' own emotional state, Childermass is probably already among the top people Reira wants to listen to, which is pretty key. Before the Carnival she had no choice but to listen. Not doing that in many of those situations definitely would have ended in death. She might not technically have a choice to disobey orders here, but it's still something she wants to do for arguably the first time in her life, which says she views the man quite positively.

Not....positive in the friendly sense, mind, but in the leading sense. You said Childermass' emotions are close to the chest-while Reira picks up on inner emotions, someone who's as controlled as Childermass is still going to be relatively controlled on the inside, at least during the times they would have interacted. Between this and how serious he is, how his conversation on the radio went, she has the image of someone who knows what they're doing, who knows how to do it, and who can, frankly, be relied upon-not by her, but rather by the Carnival itself.

Which is probably making things sting even more, go figure. Between all that and what she picked up on at the ball-where he was trying to figure out what the heck was going on-there's a lot of guilt but also a lot of determination to prove herself worthwhile. Being useful was kind of a BIG DEAL back home, it's still something she has to completely break out of, and this definitely didn't help matters.

Anyway, beyond that, we're at the same 'stand-still', where opinions and thoughts are in a nebulous void until the current location is done. (But hoo, what a location... -holds head-)

Yuya seems like a young man with a reasonably good head on his shoulders. When he isn't trying to play hero, anyway, but that seems to be the failing of way too many people in this carnival. It's forgivable to an extent. Beyond that, he knows more about the Portland version of Yuya than he does the real one and even that isn't much.

As for Syrlya (who's name I can now spell without looking), if Lambert ever asked his opinion on a second in command, he would probably suggest Syrlya. He hasn't known Syr for very long, that's true, but what he does know is that he's skilled and capable of getting a job done, as well as making (mostly) sensible decisions, which seems to be a rare trait within the carnival. (Childermass will forgive the bit with the deadly spider box as bad luck, okay?) Anyway, he really stepped up there with helping to get to the Blue Rose and, when given a super powerful artifact, sought out the Ringmaster to deliver it rather than running off wildly on his own, which Childermass also really appreciates there, plant pal. Good job, you get a gold star.

I'm not sure there is a tl;dr for Childermass's thoughts on Sora. He appreciated the heads up from the Portland version of him — in which his vision totally came true — but currently, with how he ran off and got himself captured, Childermass has to file him under the ever-growing list of 'young people who are stupid'.

Somehow the most normal of the carnival's teen squad, as far as Childermass is concerned. He doesn't appreciate Tamaki's nicknames, but he doesn't mind his company all that much. His impression of Strange managed to keep him on his good side in spite of the entire trailer invasion aspect of Tamaki's wanderings. Try to stay out of trouble, Tamaki, unlike all of your little friends.

What Is Age, we just don't know.

Anyway, Gongenzaka doesn't have A LOT of thoughts on Syr, but what he does have on him is that well, much like Syrlya thinks of him, Gon figures Syrlya has a pretty solid head as well. Any real huge cultural differences may not even really be CAUGHT, hilariously-Gongenzaka's just seen too much shit by now to really get hung up over that, and he wasn't entirely the sort to do it before either.

While he views Syr as a more than capable coworker though, he IS definitely curious about his...particular branch of magic. He hasn't really experienced it or actually seen/heard much about it, but I imagine he'd be a bit wigged out if he heard. Mind Shit, yo.

Also it's kinda neat that you're a plant.
