PLOTTING IN HELL↴ This is a plotting post for everyone who is going to be participating in RESCUE MISSION: HELL! Below I'm going to make top levels for every section, so that people can announce that they plan on tagging into certain threads and to do other planning. HAVE FUN!

Koel is pretty bad off, thanks to all of the iron she was tied with as well as the torture she's had to endure. She will want to try to fight other vampires when she is finally free - except she can't, since she is seriously injured. So carrying her off - as she futilely tries to tell her rescuers OH NO I CAN TOTALLY FIGHT KIDS COME ON BLOOD DEMANDS BLOOD BE NICE TO GRANDMA but she now has no voice to speak of and she can't really fight back anymore or really move - will be pretty easy. Its just a question of getting her out of the numerous restraints put on her!

HE GOT THIS, GRANDMA. Strange has all sorts of stupid magic that could be useful for breaking locks, melting restraints, etc. etc.

and look, if all else fails, he'll just magic up a rock and hit one of the locks with it until it breaks. #winning.

LOOK, HE'S A GENTLEMAN which is a nice way of saying 'kind of goddamn useless in certain aspects like lockpicking'

If it's cool, Lambert will be popping his head in to provide an assist with this as well, mostly to provide combat coverage and/or just cut off any chains Strange can't manage to!

Zecora, as part of her torture, has been tossed into a hole and left to rot. Fairly literally, because her injuries have been left utterly untreated and are rather fiercely infected at this point, but the real harm has been isolation and sensory deprivation.

So challenge one? Finding her. The catacombs are mazelike and hold denizens that should not be released, so injudicious choices will only bring disaster on the rescue party. Challenge two is Zecora herself: the moment she's freed of her iron bonds, she will make a panicked retreat into a completely incorporeal form to escape the pain. How do you rescue someone insubstantial?

On the upside, she's not going to fight you.

RE: finding her:
He'd like to try asking Strange to scry her location! If successful, he'd charge on over there.

RE: incorporeal:
HOW FUNNY YOU SHOULD MENTION THAT because Lambert's got a spell that's literally for making things corporeal, assuming it would work on Zecora? He can throw down a magic sign that makes wraiths/specters/etc tangible when they're inside the circle.

He's otherwise useless for healing so that's up to someone else. He's got potions that restore vitality and since she's so advanced in her fae state it should be fine but that's all he got.

Finding her is going to point towards a very dark room. Not too much context there (but it narrows down the options in the starter post, right?)

If she gets made corporeal, she will be absolutely pain-maddened and frenetic. (But see below for potential solutions to that!) But it might help get her out!

Awesome! I think I'll have him pop in there just kind of stumbling along after the rescue efforts, and go from there/play it by ear!

Scout can numb pain, anyway? And if accidentally releasing a terrible thing would be fun, she does have a lightsaber that she can throw at people.

If she gets made corporeal again (see above!) she'll NEED the numbing. She's in a bad way, and that will at least let her function sanely.

Scout's a returning vet who only spent a year in the Carnival. Her most notable injury was caused wrestling Asgardians when she was already hurt, idk to what degree either of those were. (But she won, so it was totally worth it, she'd say.)

Zecora was working primarily as supplementary medical staff up to that point so they may or may not have crossed paths. She only got the Doctor position after the vampires, so they may or may not know each other if you have a preference!

Joker has made the mistake of being very pretty which, as it turns out, is something vampires appreciate in their own. Sure, becoming a vampire makes you a super hottie anyway, but a headstart is always appreciated.

....So yeah he was vamped.

As a nice trophy and probable tribute to giving RM the middle finger, he's been put in a very pretty literal bird cage. Needless to say he's not going to be happy about it... but thanks to his sire's influence, he's not particularly inclined to leave it, either.

And frankly.... he's gotten to be pretty hungry as well.

YEAH I'm going to @Ash + if anyone else joins via your plotting post, since I assume they will look here! I'm about to hit the hay, but right now I think the general idea right now is Childermass stealthing them over to the room Joker's in and then whatever. Apparently the one rescue party not failing their stealth roll just yet?

Of course Childermass, the one person on the Carnival who knows how to shut up and stay in his lane probably, is the one to succeed the stealth roll. of course.
