⇨ IIIT'S A CR MEME!

A WILD CR MEME APPEARS

Given that it's been a while since our last CR/plotting meme, this seemed well overdue!

This post is where you talk about what you are looking for in character relationships, and then respond to other people's posts to plot! You can be as long winded or as brief if you like - as long as you communicate what you are interested in doing.

New to this post is a 'Collective Objectives' section, which will be a toplevel below. This is for coordinating events or efforts that you want the input/organization of multiple characters on, making a big group log, or developing something have broader ramifications for the Carnival moving forward.

There is a form provided below for your convenience, but you don't have to fill everything out! It just needs to be enough information to give your fellow players an idea of what they have to work with.

CHARACTER NAME | ([personal profile] journalname)
Canon: (What canon are they from?)
Carnival Role: (What is their job? Maybe your characters could be working together.)
Length of Stay: (Are they new, a veteran, or somewhere in between?)
Skills/Powers: (Self-explanatory; a concise summary of their powers and a link to their IC info page is probably more than enough. )
Routine: (Does your character have a regular schedule people can bump into them easily? A place they like to hang out? Are they a night owl or an early bird?)
Current status in game: (What they've been up to recently, their mental state, and any recent important events or developments.)
Any current or future plans: (This could be things that you would like to happen, or ideas that you're currently working on. Where would you like to see your character go, or are you looking for suggestions? Is there something you'd like to do at the current carnival location? Are you trying to nail some bonuses/rewards over the next month?)
IC Assistance: (Do you have any specific IC goals that your character needs help with? Does your character need help with their act? Do you need someone to fill a specific role in their life?)
Desired CR: (Are you most interested in seeking out positive or negative CR? Friends? Dates? New enemies? Be as specific as you can.)
Shipping Preferences: (Yay or nay? Is roleplaying sexual content something you are interested in? Are you interested in one sided crushes? Let us know here.)
Permissions/Opt Outs: (Please link any permissions/opt out posts, if applicable, here so other people can fill it in. You can also use this to make a note of any content/subject matter you'd prefer to opt out of yourself.)
Additional Comments: (Tagging speed? Timezone woes? Funny gifs? Anything else you'd like to address.)

Prince Poison Problem Solvers

[personal profile] whattaprick 2017-11-09 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
Turning back into people isn't going to fix the tiny minor-itty bitty little petrification problems anyone who got hit by the Prince's poison got stuck with, unfortunately! The Ringmaster will be using her powers to grant the partly petrified the ability to move normally, but she won't be able to return them to normal instantly due to the difficulty of working with stone. Ginko and Peridot have both discussed the idea of addressing poison issues on the radios, but this is a more formal attempt to feel out who'd might be interested in their characters being part of an effort working towards a cure/providing moral support/being guinea pigs to make sure the remedy isn't worse.

Due to the nature of the poison, It'll likely need combined magical, chemical, and ~spiritual~ expertise on the job. Either way, it's going to take some work!

YES. YES PLEASE. /WAVES HAND LIKE HERMIONE

the cure, obviously, herbert wouldn't know a moral support if it landed on his head

[personal profile] whattaprick 2017-11-09 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
COOL i think herbert is actually like ... the only ... actual person assigned to a medical-type position of the volunteers so far, do you have a sense of whether he'd actively wanna lead or would rather be directed on what to do or is sort of gonna be a 'doesn't play well with others' situation? :|a

[personal profile] scientificist 2017-11-09 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
He'd work ok with others when he discovered that a good portion of the issue is related to "science" outside his field. I think he might prefer to work testing behind the scenes (not least because all the affected know him as Onion Guy) but he'll be bossy about what he requires which might lend itself to leading if no-one else takes charge? Lmk if that makes sense.

Mari's alternation/transformation magic will probably be useful, and she is EXTREMELY willing to offer her expertise!

i thought i replied to this but anyway, sounds like mari's one for Team Magic then! she already transformed sans' tail into a tentacle (lmao) surely there's ... something that can be done there

[personal profile] motivenotfound 2017-11-10 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, the basic magic of "something becomes another thing" is definitely there....

She also, admittedly, is a literal metaphysical biologist, but she doesn't tend to admit that very often? Though now that I think about it, LCL might actually be pretty handy here.

You want some primordial life juice for your chemistry sets?

yooooooo

Rita is a mage and a chemist, so she will have some expertise to contribute! And, y'know, she's got good incentive to do so, considering she's one of the poisoned folks.
whattaprick: (Default)

[personal profile] whattaprick 2017-11-09 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
SHE SURE DOES would rita be more likely to try to lead an effort or be willing to be directed? :|a kind of trying to figure who's bossing around who
anti_nonsense: (read a book read a book)

[personal profile] anti_nonsense 2017-11-09 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
HMM. Rita is naturally bossy and would be fine with ordering people around, but with her current condition she also might just pass out in the middle of working. So she could take charge (or be one of multiple leader-types) but she wouldn't be super consistent.

[personal profile] textsfromhotland 2017-11-09 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
HELLO YES I WOULD LIKE TO DO A SCIENCE

Alphys hasn't done anything useful at all yet and she will probably want to help out a little bit.

Also Hinawa is going to be spending a lot of time fretting over the freed prisoners (especially if they were beasts in the hunt) so she can be around for moral support and/or offer the cookhouse for any potential cure stuff? IDK
whattaprick: (these wooounds they will not heeeal)

[personal profile] whattaprick 2017-11-09 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
HEY ALPHYS your monster biology expertise would come in real handy right about now bc fuck if lambert knows if a cure for humans will work on monsters?????

also at the very least lambert will eat as much as possible, food down there was pretty not great. if only they could solve problems through eating lmao
kingsroads: (small cheeky little smile)

[personal profile] kingsroads 2017-11-09 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Strange can help contribute on the mage front. He's got a teeny bit of experience with transfiguration magic, a whole lot more experience with rocks, and a willingness to drink cures of dubious quality to test for side-effects (assuming that nobody tells Lambert or Childermass.)
whattaprick: (back the fuck up)

[personal profile] whattaprick 2017-11-09 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
don't get turned to stone, strange...

he sounds like he'd work best on the magic woo component of this problem, so possibly putting heads together w/ mari, rita, and poss lauren???

lambert's idea of testing a cure is "cut someone with the sword and see if it reverses it" so uh

lauren would like to help. he has magic healing and also knows a lot about plants and herbal remedies. /shrug emoji

[personal profile] whattaprick 2017-11-09 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
does he have experience lifting/curing petrification? :|a it's not meant to be an easy fix, but the plants + herbal remedies thing might come in handy if he can help come up with a list of stuff for the acquisitions team to acquire

I guess if anyone needs a Definite Detector of Success Gongenzaka is here..? Also this could ICly help propel his in-character poisonspell learning Eyyy

But yeah mostly he's good for making sure there's any effect on them souls-

[personal profile] whattaprick 2017-11-10 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I mentioned this to Joy already, buuut possibly Gon and Scout would make a good teamup towards devising something that addresses the soul component if their whole thing is centering/focus/etc. We've got lots of mages and science-types in the equation, but we're a little thin on spiritual guidance. :|a

now replying to my own plotting toplevel

lambert has a solid base of alchemy to work on because witchers already make potions that clear poison/toxins. the trick will be combining this to account for the magic + ~spirit~ components of the poison, which fuck if he knows. he's operating on the basis that clearing the toxin from the blood will be enough, but reversing petrification is something he knows shit about.
stillwinningthehardway: (Default)

[personal profile] stillwinningthehardway 2017-11-09 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Scout has her thing where she can take like an hour to laboriously clean toxins out of a body. Of course this is a magical, spiritual poisoning and she really doesn't know what to do with rock, but she could help!

god she's gonna complain so hard if the solution is poisoning them all more, in different ways, and then she has to fix that. It's such a pain to work that power!

...I mean, she'd do it, and she wouldn't complain at Joker or Rita. It's just she'd feel sick and someone would probably have to do something.
whattaprick: (eeeyyy lmao)

[personal profile] whattaprick 2017-11-09 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm. Scout sounds like her efforts would make most sense teaming up with Gon, I think, since it's more an internal effort/concentration/??? thing. There are plenty of mages and chemists to deal with the physical toxin component and petrification, not so much the soul bit. Maybe coming up with a routine for the survivors or something? Just spitballing ideas there.

ROLLS UP IN HERE FASHIONABLY LATE

Yes Peridot will still probably be trying to coordinate an effort on this after the hunt is over. She knows rocks and she knows transformation magic, but otherwise she's probably going to have to defer to other people's expertise in a lot of areas?

She's also bossy mcbosserton so once things are a bit more settled I can potentially put her on the network making a call for extra hands on the project. Maybe something joint with Ginko Strange and Mari? IDK I'm p. flexible
whattaprick: (Default)

[personal profile] whattaprick 2017-11-13 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
WE ALREADY TALKED ABOUT THIS and i do feel peridot would be the greatest fit as an ic 'overseer' so a network post would be great. we'll get them ducks in a row one way or another, but ic'ly since everything is still settling anyway there's not too much of a rush.

In terms of POISON SAMPLES TO WORK WITH...Carly might have an interesting source.

Firing any arrow from the bow she won yields poison-it might not necessarily be the same/as strong, but that in itself could well be more helpful than hindering, depending.
dontpokethat: now that ive changed the meaning of really well to the opposite of what it means in my head (things are going really well for me)

[personal profile] dontpokethat 2017-11-10 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
this has been established of course BUT to consolidate information yep ginko is gonna be helping with cure stuff!! he's actually got a pretty good background for this since handling mushi often involves a mix of biological and like... symbolic/spiritual elements. hurray for paranormal biology bs??
