⇨ New Location: THE CELEBRATION
PREPARATION↴ As Day 57 comes to a close, it would seem that no one has taken the Ringmaster's time of weakness against her - and boy, is she thrilled out it! Her explanation of those events will be covered by an IC post, but suffice to say, she was touched by each and every show of loyalty and care that she received from her workers during that time. It surpassed even her wildest expectations! As such, she will announce, she is going to take the carnival somewhere she personally considers very fun, as a reward for their service and to celebrate the end of the second full month of the carnival's new season. There will be a couple day's journey between dimensional locations, during which the Ringmaster will take the opportunity to get into some further nonsense with the supervisors that will be handled in another post. After that, on Day 60, the carnival will sync itself to a new dimensional realm, one that she claims of the home of an endless party that has been going on for centuries. Whether or not that sounds awesome probably depends on your personality, but once you've been escorted from the carnival to the Celebration's grounds, you'll discover that it really does have something for everyone. Workers will be free to enjoy all of what the Celebration has to offer, leading up to a grand masquerade ball at the end of the week. That said, they should put costume shopping on their list of things to do - thankfully, free clothes in many exciting styles are one of this location's key features. SETTING↴ ![]() The Celebration is apparently some kind of pocket dimension, passingly connected to many realms but not fully part of any of them. The entirety of its universe lies within the walls of some kind of grand resort - organized and run in a way similar to a cruise ship, to anyone familiar. Of course, in this case, there is no ocean and there are no tourist stops. It's just glamorous hall after glamorous hall, filled with fine liquor, fine food, and luxury, luxury, luxury. Rooms are pristine, messes are cleaned up before you can call for a maid, and all the Host asks for in return is your enjoyment. Pretty sweet deal, right? Right. Upon entering the Celebration's realm, the wait staff will be ready for you. Carnival members will be escorted to their rooms, in the pairs already determined by their trailer park arrangements. They'll be able to bring whatever belongings they wish along from their trailer, but after they've arrived there will be minimal travel between the carnival and the Celebration grounds, so you better pack smart. You're going to be in for a trip. Not least because the gilded exterior of Celebration life hides some troubling realities which the Ringmaster may be too damn fae to notice. PATRONS↴ ![]() ► THE HOST: The realm's creator and most loyal servant. The Host is the entity that allows the Celebration to exist, and has been propagating it for centuries for apparently mysterious reasons - likely something to do with living off of residual feeling of joy or whatnot, as the Ringmaster will explain. The Host manifests in the form of a large number of faceless servants - guests will find it impossible to focus on the facial features of any given servant, as if their eyes cannot focus on the details or as if the image immediately slips their memory. These servant figures are nearly omnipresent, and will appear whenever you need something without needing to be called. You can tell that they do come in various gender presentations, mostly by their outfits, which are primarily neat, sleek, and black in design. Don't bother tipping - they won't know what to do with it. ![]() ► THE GUESTS: The beings that frequent the Celebration are much like you: gathered from across the multiverse and coming in a variety of forms, though most tend towards human or ostensibly elven. The Ringmaster will explain that guests end up there in a similar manner that they do to the carnival. Perhaps they were looking for an escape, or in need of some joy in their lives. How convenient, then, that they end up in this realm where the Host can take care of all their needs for as long as they require. It sounds great on paper, sure, but there's something about the other guests here that the Ringmaster doesn't quite seem to notice. You won't notice until you try to interact with them more closely, but there is something unnerving about the way they behave, as if they've lost their comprehension for a world outside of endless luxuries and wine. The worst of them seem as if they've been burnt out from the inside - like some spark inside of them is gone and now they can only think of pursuing that next bit of pleasure. But, maybe you're just being a downer. That has to be it, right? DANGERS↴ ![]() ► AN ENEMY RETURNS: Though many are too new to remember the trouble caused by a certain society of vampires, these creatures have certainly not forgotten the carnival. Details will be explained in the latter portions of the event, but let it be known that there will be trouble. You can only run away from your past for so long, and the Celebration does not discriminate in its guests. REWARDS↴ The Host would assure you, being here is its own reward. Of course, this may change with further plot developments. CHANGES↴ If your character falls fully victim to the spell of the Celebration, giving into its temptations deeply enough to have their will compromised, they may develop a new common or uncommon change as a result. What kind of change is flexible, but something that matches the context in which they are receiving it would be ideal - so if you have something you want that is particularly glamorous or superficial, this would be the time. Or, even better, their costume at the masquerade may start becoming more than a mask... Also, there will be vampires around later, so... just keep that in mind. Vampires can famously cause some changes their their own. Beyond that, this is a PLOTTING POST, which means you can use it to make plans! The game chat is also a great place to discuss plots, so we welcome you to pop on in if you haven't already! A mingle log will be posted this weekend. |

But yeah, most of this stuff is fancy stuff, but let me know if you ever need something more casual too!
