Lambert thinks Scout tries too hard -- not at anything in particular, really, just too hard in general. She's too earnest to really hide how she feels though she tries to act like she isn't easy to ruffle, and he likes that obviousness, that she isn't someone who can really act like she doesn't care. Of course, he thinks she cares about all the wrong things, but it still makes his life easier. It takes some of the guesswork out of the equation. Lambert basically considers Scout a bit of a good two-shoes with far too many inconvenient things like morals. They have a lot of similarities in some ways, and are completely different in others. Naturally, that only makes him want to pick on her more!
Celandine's conversation with Trakata makes him feel like he knows her a little better, or at least understands some of her motives. Funnily, that makes her more relatable to him. As far as he's concerned, they both joined the Carnival for revenge, though Scout seems a little less murder-happy about it (weird, in his opinion, she should have just asked RM to help her kill the guy and be done with it, seems super straightforward to him). Again, that sort of thing shows the difference in their upbringing leading to some different motivations for some awfully similar actions.
It's probably for the best that he hasn't caught on to the ways he reminds her of anyone from back home, much less people important to her, because he'd be a little uncertain what to do with that. He assumes the ambiguity in their relationship is pretty equally matched on Scout's end, and while she's a capable enough ally in a fight and he'd trust her to have his back (or kill him if necessary) Scout seems pretty dedicated to this tough independent teenager thing and he's happy to let her have that independence.

Having there be a lot of similarities and great contrast has been a whole lot of fun. I'm glad Lambert can tell Scout's kinda posturing and presenting herself as someone she's not really.
