He reminds her a little bit of her second Master, as I've said before, though Jai was more a distant scarred asshole than a Lambert. When she likes him it's pretty much in spite of herself. Part of her wants to reach out and trust more, she's geared to want to depend on some others, but she's also like "I only want to trust him because we have to work together so often, it's proximity" and is very annoyed with how much she's confided already. Plus he loses his temper and that's so very much not a trait she's comfortable around, so she's more suspicious of him.
Scout kind of has a Thing about powers stronger than hers. (Most powers are stronger than hers.) No matter how hard she trains, and she's always training, no matter what she does to be better at her strengths, she can't close that kind of gap and so more powerful people feed into her inferiority complex. She tries to deal with this by not thinking about it.
The dragon thing is something she's just hella jealous of though. Ugh.

how much shit is she gonna give him for not telling anyone about dragon thing tho

At minimum she'll be telling him he has to tackle the obstacle course while a dragon. (Especially if it means falling over himself and she can bring other people to watch.) You have to work! You have to push past the unfamiliarity and learn to move like that!
...She does think he's lazy, I gotta say, but almost everyone's lazy to her.

he trains off-screen a lot! depending on the hours she keeps they may or may not run into each other. he does balance work with play a lot better though :D

Yeah, it's nice he has the luxury to play. It's a good thing Scout's actually pretty good at like not getting a broken leg or something because that kind of enforced idleness would kill her? here this is relevant, I honestly can't play her as intense as this for long but fortunately she's a bit more chill day to day

Lambert would probably say Jedi training kind of sounds like they squeeze puke and sweat out of you over the course of a decade where they do it the same amount in witcher training, only in the course of a week and by force-feeding you the bad kind of potions.
He would definitely approve of the whole 'survive through pure spite' though, considering that's how he survived becoming a witcher. :|b Good job, Scout! Let the rage flow through you!

It's basically spiritual boot camp, but it's not quite as strenuous for other apprentices. It wasn't actually so intense for Scout until she had and lost Kim, actually! She was sure she was going to wash out before that but was more resigned and sad- being picked and having her Master killed three weeks later just lit a fire there and then she kept it going for over a year.
This book's version of the Jedi has them perfectly okay with having emotions! You can feel A Lot as long as you don't throw tantrums, Lambert. ...as long as you don't throw destructive tantrums or hurt people. But it is pretty funny how they've got that in common.

The plant thing doesn't even register as really noteworthy, though she'd definitely be like "huh" if she knew more details.

She doesn't really think of him as anything like Yoda, who's way more of a troll about stuff, but it's the same in just... 'well, that happened, try to roll with it'. She was really impressed with him on Roof Adventure! Her inferiority complex re: having weak powers hasn't kicked in too badly because she finds his abilities kinda weird, not like something she could probably do if she were stronger.
They really need to thread more, I like their dynamic!

But all the sideeye over the weird xenophobia. She should complain about it with Peridot.

I'm sure Peridot would have plenty to say back lmao

Scout considers him reckless and irresponsible and wouldn't understand like half of his motivation. The amount of stuff he can do is frankly kinda alarming, too? There's so much. But he's also pretty good natured, doesn't seem to look down on people for not being able to do as much, and doesn't seem to have the dark edge that would really put her off? She likes him but considers him kind of a mess.
