Rita is 100% a magician. She views magic with such an intellectual curiosity and such a desire to explore and push it to new lengths that Strange just loves it. Despite her age, he knows she's a top notch scholar and really would love to read some of her work because a: he's certain it's amazing and b: both of them could get so much out of an intellectual debate of whatever she's writing. The fact that they've both opened up about how the state of their world's magic is changing and that they're both more excited than scared is just another point in the "oh man, this magician just gets me" column.
But at the same time, Rita's a kid. And there are moments when Strange forgets that Rita's a kid and just views her as a magician but then when she's being all tsundere about dancing, it just hits him right between the eyes that wait a moment, Rita's a kid. So there's still a bit of teasing and joking around because Rita is a kid and Strange is pretty immature. He should be more conscious of the fact that she IS a literal teenager, but that status as a magician and that love of magic usually overrides the 'Rita is a teenage girl and has teenage girl feelings about certain things' obvious point.
Though please stop punching him, this is getting ridiculous.
