Now that you've had a week to plan, this is the official role call post for the AU. Please reply to whatever header your character is included in with a summary of their role in Portland, with your character's name in the post subject. You can just copy and paste summaries used in the plotting post if you like, though for the same of mod plotting I would ask that you name and bold any of the following in your descriptions:
Organizations: If your character is in a group or organization of any kind, please bold it! This will be important for the dispensing of IC clues and NPC attention.
NPC Connections: If your character has a powerful NPC of any kind that they are connection to, please list and bold them. The mods will be writing some of these NPCs into the metaplot, and we can't do that if we don't know they exist!
Meetup Points: If your character runs or is affiliated with anything that could be considered a supernatural hangout, it would be useful to make them easy to find, for the sakes of people who want to know what kind of places will be available in Portland for their characters to hang out.
Confirming your concepts in this post is not mandatory, but I would super appreciate anyone who does. If you do not reply to this post, your character will not be tied into the metaplot. Additionally, I will give everyone who does reply a +2 AC point bonus to their next activity check, per character they reply with.
Pearl started out as a regular human mage, studying magic as a rebellious teenager, joined a local coven, and eventually The Circle for a time. Before she was 20, she had attracted the attention of the local summer fae -- specifically the Rose Queen. Pearl was immediately attracted to her for both looks and power and, in violation of most mage beliefs, started hanging around with her more. At first she attempted to keep this a secret from the Circle; however, eventually these "relations" started to have an effect on her appearance (translucent, insect-like wings on her back and pointed ears) and she was kicked out of both her coven AND the Circle.
Being unaffiliated, the Rose Queen took his as an opportunity to make Pearl one of her human representatives -- someone who could do jobs that were below or impossible for pure fae. Pearl became her Summer Knight, a mortal representative of the Summer Court who was given power, but also more or less controlled by the court. She spent so long doing this, training in the fae domain, that her aging process slowed and she's lost track of how old she actually is -- though at some point during all of this she encounter both Greg and presumably Steven.
Once she was deemed "loyal" enough, Pearl was allowed to spend more time among humans again. Annoyed that she had lost her connections with the Circle, Pearl formed her own small coven/biker gang. Predominately female, she focused on taking in outcasts and others like her who had spent a little too much time with the fair folk. She dubbed them The Renegades.
Recently, Pearl has started to have her doubts about the fae and their treatment of mortals. She encounters too many tragic stories among the changelings who come and go among her coven. Plus, she'd seen some things in the fae realm when she was there (that at the time she ignored). It's starting to wear on her, despite the thick walls she built to contain such feelings. Now, with Steven escaped from the Rose Queen's clutches, Pearl has been tasked with "finding him."
Luckily...they didn't specify what to do with him when she did...
