Sometimes this happens - you see someone around the edges of the carnival looking angry and frustrated, and it's pretty obvious why. Steven hadn't actually tried to leave before signing a contract, but now that he knows how it works when you do, he can understand being upset. Of course, it's a hard thing to explain.
