[ There's a whole different bundle of issues with regards to Strange's status as Lambert's best friend and all the ten billion insecurities that Strange has with regards to it that he's sure as hell not going to actually say out loud. So, instead of vocalizing all that, he simply shrugs. ]

Why do you think there's a choice? The point is, what Childermass means to him is different than what you mean to him, so trying to compare yourself with who he'd pick for what is pointless!

Maybe the problem is you're looking at everyone like it's an ultimatum, instead of accepting that they all care about and need a lot of people, including you!

My point was that having other people we care about, even if we're closer to them, doesn't mean anything to how we feel about you! It's not a competition. We're not picking anyone over you.
