[ A panda was something Lord Shen had a habit of noticing right off, much in the manner many others might a panda-sized spider or a cockroach. Of course, spiders and roaches had the merit of being somewhat edible in Shen's estimation, which put them in a bracket above the odious black-and-white cretins who had been foretold to craft his doom. He hadn't learned her name yet, but he'd seen her around and kept a wary eye on her as he went about his tasks for the carnival.
