[He's disappointed, but only barely, and he keeps it from showing in his expression. He had always hoped that meeting someone else like him would mean learning more about his origins. Or maybe getting advice from someone who had more than trial and error to teach them how to clean their scales. He's always wanted to talk with someone who knew more about his body than he did, but nevertheless this woman presents a wonderful opportunity. If she can't be the mentor he's always hoped he could have, he could be the mentor that she might be wishing for too. No matter how many times he's thought about it, he can't really imagine what it would be like to suddenly have legs, so changing in the other direction must have been pretty alarming as well.
