Um. Well, she could. But she's not around anymore. It's kind of a long story.
[Back in the day he would have explained the gem thing, but he finds himself not really wanting to describe the details of it today.]
She was an alien? Which is why she had all this magic stuff. So I guess it makes sense that not all humans would know about it.
