AWWWWWWWWYEAH STRANGE. So I hinted at this on the reply to your own tl;cr, but honestly thinking of these two occasionalllly makes me think "THIS IS STRANGE AND CARLY AND WELCOME TO JACKASS." The two have definitely developed an interesting friendship, which started as mostly just Carly thinking 'hahaha, he's a nice guy I guess but kinda ???' into someone who she's able to trust when she gets...Maybe not the best ideas about things, but still ideas.
Magic is weird, but magic is magic, and Strange seems to know magic right? She's somehow never let his prior heck-ups get in the way of that developing trust...possibly because she's often hyper aware of how close SHE comes to those sorts of mistakes as well. To Carly, this is someone who's got a passion, and it's a passion she can get behind-they can both appreciate the way magic works, and given he knows about it more than she does (at least so she feels, though she's not exactly wrong), that's something she's more than eager to get into at his side.
But then there's the serious talks-and these have been things where they've been on...more or less similar pages for the most part, which is something Carly hasn't really had in the past. She's not someone who HAD friends before the Carnival, and while she had friends during the Carnival, Strange has quickly become someone she can call...a true friend. One she'd go to the ends of the earth for, actually.
Because honestly? A world without Strange seems like it'd just be a very depressing world indeed. Who else can she talk to, that'll just go around and poke a jellyfish because it looks neat?
