Whoa like Scout why are you defending aliens, aliens are the worst.
He's so happy he has someone to gossip about their boss and coworkers with behind their backs. When they have a chance he's totally going to be doing that with Scout more. He hasn't had the chance to see her in as much action as Lambert and Syr, but she catches on quick and has a useful skillset, so that's a plus in his book.
9S would be a lot more ambivalent about Scout if she hadn't explained about (some) aliens being human offshoots. Which had the probably unintended effect of making 9S even more in awe of humans and jerking that human supremacy banner. But since she did, he's more than fine with her possibly being half human, if only because her other half is also human (offshoot). He doesn't realise he's making her uncomfortable with the way he talks to her and about humans (and dismissive of aliens), alas. That's gonna bite him in the butt later probably since she's already gossiped about that to Syr. Who would have thought that the person he would like to gossip with more would, gasp, gossip about him?
