Strange is first off 100% Yuya's friend. His adult friend, definitely, as he recognizes Strange is older and has more life experience and generally trusts him like you'd trust your teachers (even if he shouldn't). But also Strange is a big dork, so Yuya doesn't necessarily look up to him, but he's someone very important.
He thinks Strange means well and would definitely do his best if Yuya needed to rely on him. He already has even at risk to himself, so Yuya knows if there's anything he has to go to Strange for he has no hesitations doing so. He's someone who 'love' is also a huge driving force, which Yuya gets and he finds his adoration of his wife endearing.
If he ever has skepticism over Strange's decisions, it's probably because he saw firsthand how far south they can go (the FAE). They end up having to weather bad situations more than just chatting, but Yuya doesn't really feel a schism between them because Strange is just that easy for him to talk to. It's just as easy to teach him to swim as it is to die in a video game together. That Strange is just as enthusiastic also gets Yuya to gravitate towards him.
Of course, Yuya likes to give to his friends as much as he takes. It's a bad situation but he is glad that Strange is going to open up more after they leave the Manor, because Strange is as bad at hiding his emotions as Yuya is and he can tell there's stuff that's been bothering him and hey, Yuya likes to be there for his friends.
Also he definitely appreciates Real Strange over Portland Strange, which is hilarious since Portland was where their big hurdle of CR was crossed. Real Strange just has all the stuff Yuya liked in Portland without being a prejudiced bag of dicks.
