Taako's daemon is a female African bush viper named Flauta! She tends to embody the parts of himself that he tries to keep hidden-- his craving for companionship and the fact that, deep down, he cares a whole lot more about people than he admits to. She also tends to be more expressive about it than his body is when Taako is having a bad time/feeling down. Basically, they're the same, but she lacks the mental blocks he has about expressing weakness and vulnerability, and so keeping an eye on her is honestly a much more clear picture of how he's feeling at any given time.
