AU ROLE CALL↴
Now that you've had a week to plan, this is the official role call post for the AU. Please reply to whatever header your character is included in with a summary of their role in Portland, with your character's name in the post subject. You can just copy and paste summaries used in the plotting post if you like, though for the same of mod plotting I would ask that you name and bold any of the following in your descriptions:
- Organizations: If your character is in a group or organization of any kind, please bold it! This will be important for the dispensing of IC clues and NPC attention.
- NPC Connections: If your character has a powerful NPC of any kind that they are connection to, please list and bold them. The mods will be writing some of these NPCs into the metaplot, and we can't do that if we don't know they exist!
- Meetup Points: If your character runs or is affiliated with anything that could be considered a supernatural hangout, it would be useful to make them easy to find, for the sakes of people who want to know what kind of places will be available in Portland for their characters to hang out.
Confirming your concepts in this post is not mandatory, but I would super appreciate anyone who does. If you do not reply to this post, your character will not be tied into the metaplot. Additionally, I will give everyone who does reply a +2 AC point bonus to their next activity check, per character they reply with.

⇨ DEMONS
Elsa
She doesn't have much regard for human life (or any life) and feels she can do as she pleases. She lives in a high-end loft in the Pearl District by thralling the landlord into letting her live there for free. She spends the majority of her time there, although at nights she also goes to Shima's supernatural-catering night club, usually to drink and listen to music in the VIP section (assuming Shima's player is still going with that idea, otherwise she hangs out at Generic Nightclub).
Sometime before the start of the plot, a mage named Bob attempted to summon Elsa to do his bidding, but because of a faulty binding spell, Elsa got loose. Annoyed that this human mage dared to try binding her, she killed him by freezing him from the inside out, and dumped him unceremoniously in a back alley. This has gotten her in some trouble with the Circle, as well as with the angel Joker.
THE PSIONIC
Psi is just about the worst demon ever. He can't steal a soul to save his life, and in fact he kind of doesn't want to. Among demons he has a notorious reputation for being particularly spineless and completely incompetent. His response to danger? Run. Sure it's a cowardly move, but it's also why he's managed to live this long despite being only barely tolerated (at best) by other demons.
Demons are known for being complete and total assholes and to be honest Psi isn't a huge exception. His people skills are lacking, he's crude, and he has no sense of propriety. However, his cowardly reputation mean most people tolerate him places they normally tolerate wouldn't. He's not part of any specific crowd and as such can intermingle freely among people of different groups. As a result if you need something he generally 'knows a guy.'
He makes a living through exchanging favors, information, drugs, and occasionally stealing. Just because he doesn't like violence doesn't mean he's above other immoral activities! He spends his free time engaging in every overindulgence he can. As far as the demon civil war goes, he's definitely on the side of the hedonists. Finally, he never gives out his name and as a result answers to basically anything. If pressed he'll say his name is John Doe or something equally generic. Feel free to call him Hey You, Demon Dude, Idiot, or whatever else you'd like.
For the event Grubbin will be "Slimey," Psi's pet hell worm. His cat, "Disciple," is not with him.
Relationships:
He knows Helen and Will of the Sanctuary. He sends anyone in need he finds their way.
He's known Axel and Ginko since their escape from the fae realm. He's willingly offers whatever relevant information he has to the Changeling Network.
Sans hangs out in Psi's apartment so much it's practically like he lives there.
Psi met Joker the day of the severing and they've been casual fuck-buddies ever since.
He knows of Pearl and Rita of The Renegades and sometimes chills with their crew.
He can be seen hanging with Scout of the Circle. He lets her test spells on him and gets her rare potion supplies etc.
He's been to Zecora's clinic for treatment before for demon measles.
He meets with Allen Walker regularly to exchange information for the United Order
Steven was his neighbor before he was stolen away, and the two of them had become friends.
He also knows Greg, but doesn't know the two of them are related.
He is Foster's warlock patron and generally just a terrible influence.
This suggests he also knows Amethyst and is aware of the The Pack
He also steals electronic shit for Zim who is apparently the worst changeling ever.
Shima's Demon Boss, Malachi is the same as Psi's old boss. He's really pissed Psi just sort of fucked off without a trace as soon as the severing happened. This of course means it's likely that Psi knows Shima
He also hangs out at Dignity Village a lot. It's a good place to eavesdrop.

RENZO SHIMA
He's the standard kind of demon with an affinity for fire — hellfire, in this case — as well as mind control and super strength when he needs to take problems into his own hands. On top of that, he's cleared to make deals for souls, though he isn't the one who keeps them. While he prefers settling things without murder, he also has a reputation of having his goons — lesser demons and a handful of warlocks — take people out to the middle of nowhere and just "vanish" them. Never anyone too important, though. That's just too much trouble!
Appearance-wise, he's got black hair instead of pink (that was dye before, anyway), horns, the devil tail with the spade at the end, claws, sharp teeth, slit pupils with red and black eyes. He isn't any particular funky color, though his hands, feet, and end of his tail start out black and taper off, giving his limbs a generally charred look. He also has a few tattoo-like markings in red, though typically only the ones on his face are visible [ a very rough sketch right here ]
Post-Severing, he's put his investments into the supernatural nightclub CROSSROADS [ more details here ], where he can be found more often than not, usually more active at night due to the nature of the business. It's incredibly shady and a meeting spot for illicit groups just as often as perfectly innocent ones. How he keeps it open no doubt involves bribery and leaning heavily on his knack for altering and controlling minds. That said, it's also the main stomping and meeting grounds for one of Portland's actual demon lords, who Renzo is still stuck serving, and that would be Malachi.
MALACHI is yet another fire-affinity demon (considering how most of his minions are also that, it makes the most sense), just bigger and much badder. Very traditional red devil sort, broad, heavyset, cigar-chomping, with a very Godfather-like air around him. If Renzo's the slick salesman of demons, Malachi is definitely the mob boss of them. He has a lot more minions besides Renzo to boss around and his main goal is to collect souls, souls, souls, hoping to force a gateway to Hell back open with them at some point. He is also the Psionic's old boss and he would like nothing more than to stomp that little coward out of existence, so, yeah, try to avoid him, Psi.
Renzo will also be starting out with FULL MEMORIES, which means he's getting dropped into this life suddenly and will only know enough to fake it like a pro after going through Actual Demon Renzo's apartment for clues.
In addition to that, YAMANTAKA is still around and also has full memories. Only here, he isn't a demon. Here, he's trapped in the form of a ghostly black bull who is intent on haunting Shima until he does the right thing and tries to fix this. He will be harassing his former master often and may speak to other people, depending on whether they can see him and if they ever think to summon him or track him down to ask questions.
Madhuri
The severing was freedom for her to play and live as she likes. For the most part she isn't hunted by angels, but the occasional opportunist tries to come after her to meet a quota.
So what's a girl to do when she needs a little bite to eat and no real means of going around and getting it the old fashioned way...?
By running a romance-themed radio show, of course! If you tune in on late nights, you get to listen in on V-Love's Midnight Boudoir. While on the air, running from midnight to 4 AM, Viola reads letters sent in or takes phone calls. She will listen to your stories of love lost or listen to your questions while asking for advice. It's all shame-free on the show, and all the while, she gets to have a few nibbles of that tasty energy. Win-win! ...Maybe!
Obviously, this will come with a few adult themes, but I'm NOT gonna push it to NC-17 at all, nor should any of the folks I thread with. It's just a radio show and she feeds off the energy remotely rather than, well, directly as the textbook succubi do. TALK OF YOUR LOVE WOES. SHE WILL HELP.
Re: Madhuri
Rin
Rin looks a lot like this, but is also packing a pair of flight capable wings, more scales, and a thicker tail. He can hide most of his demonic features, but his tail remains even when disguised. Rin works at Shima's Nightclub as a waiter and a cook, making fancy hors d'oeuvres for guests. He is friends with Sora and goes to the same college as him, but lives at home. He has two pets... Kuro remains a demonic cat, and Nosh is a demonic dragonfly. They were presents from mom!
Rin also has half and half memories, and he will gradually recover more of his actual/carnival memories as time goes on. In general, he will be mostly the same, though more likely to give into demonic instincts like overindulging and slacking off.
Taako
He and Axel had some kind of affair until he was chased off. He's going to seek out anyone he knows and is friendly with in his circus memories, and will end up meeting with Zim, a changeling with half and half memories. The two of them will try to figure out what's going on, and likely will seek out other people they remember from the carnival.
As a demon, he arrived on earth at a demon lord's command; when he lost contact with that lord, he basically shrugged it off and went about stealing, killing, fucking, and generally being a huge shitlord of a demon.
Blue
If she had any master before settling in Portland, she never speaks of them and shows no inclination to go looking, but she does always keep tabs on the diabolical goings-on of the area in the hopes of finding something her boy might take interest in.
So far it's utterly failed.
Blue will be regaining her memories of her self as a Diamond in a week or two into the event, whereupon she will run into Serious Issues.
