Tanyuu is daughter to a high-ranking family within the Torchlight, though her ideology is very much at odds with the fanatic hatred that much of the organization shows towards the otherworldly. This owes in large part to her brother, Ginko, having been ostracized from the family soon after he had been found after escaping from the fae. She would have severed ties as well if she hadn't had her own disabilities to think about--being wheelchair-bound and on the streets is not a good combination. As such, she works as a support member and minor mage, helping with healing injured fighters and occasionally crafting charms and wards to protect certain areas from intrusion.
Tanyuu is somewhat ostracized from both sides--the supernatural community wary of her for her high-profile family, and her family and organization looking down on her for her 'radical' thought that maybe supernatural people are still people. She can be found often at the tea shop Ginko works at, or otherwise enjoying the various parks and gardens around the city. For such a low-key person, it's pretty easy to recognize her--not a lot of young women in wheelchairs going around with lovebirds on their shoulder (say hi, Haruki).
