O-oh! [She's taken aback by the hug at first. Not that Steven doesn't usually give enthusiastic embraces, but this seems a little much for having just seen him. Had she missed something? She's definitely starting to get that feeling. But, even if from Pearl's perspective she just saw Steven a few minutes ago, she's never been one to resist a hug from the younger half gem. Strange appearance and strange location aside, she gently returns the hug. She's able to take in more of the changes and it makes her a little sad and worried.

What had they done to her baby?]

Steven. I'm fine. I was merely tracking a strange creature that ran into this maze and got a little turned around. [There's a pause and she places a hand on his shoulder.] Now what do you know about all of this? When I left you were getting ready for bed...you couldn't possibly have beaten me here.

[One of the nearby Pearl reflections chuckles, whispering to an adjacent reflection.]

"That's what she thinks."
