Shadow is totally and completely nocturnal. When he's not on constant roustabout duties, then he can definitely be around to harass people into waking up. Oh and he still has his powers, so blasting away all the baby nightmares can be another thing he does on the side.

Daytime however is probably a different story... well he could probably wear a giant cloak for the sun, but assuming he fell into a nap, then maybe you'll get assaulted by tiny nightmare bats, dragons, and teeny knights.

Someone please entertain him during the day.
