Hmmm... that tricky, because the point of the Trials was to basically justify the characters keeping a Pokemonly ICly... so if he got off without having to do anything because of taking an egg it might not be very fair.

Maybe he has to do some kind of specific quest for RM instead? Given that an egg can't fight in a Pokemon battle.
