[Whenever he sees new people around, Sans has started to make a habit of passing through the maze ever so often, just in case anyone is having... difficulties. After all, it seems like a prime way to piss of guests - that, and if they do any property damage in there, it's something he'll have to take to the Ringmaster, since more than one person has gotten themselves into debt over broken mirrors.
